Who is the Fibroblast suitable for?

Plasma Pen / Fibroblast is excellent for many different skin concerns such as eyelid tightening, the lifting of the skin on the face or body, acne scarring, scar correction, and stretch marks. It’s also suitable for most skin types.

In the past, people with conditions detailed above have opted for traditional surgical procedures. However, correction is now possible in a non-invasive way by using Fibroblasting.

Darker skin tones may not be good candidates for Plasma Pen. However, please ask us and we will be able to advise you on the best treatment for your skin type. Please avoid tanning before treatment. Plasma Pen isn’t suitable if you have diabetes, healing disorders, sunburn, active cold sores, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How does plasma pen work?

Plasma skin tightening is an extremely accurate treatment that uses plasma to eliminate excess or unwanted skin. The device works by utilising the voltage in the air between its tip and the atmospheric gases. This process forms a plasma charge which instantly shrinks the unwanted skin. The plasma pen is positioned close enough to the surface, so a plasma arc is created onto the skin, stimulating an instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres called sublimation.

During treatment, the device leaves a series of tiny dots running alongside the tension lines of the skin. The process triggers an instant contraction and tightening of the skin fibres creating a lifting, remodelling and rejuvenating effect.

The outer skin layers vaporised by the plasma do not burn off and instead flake off at a later date as part of the healing process.

The treatment is non-surgical, non-invasive, and some procedures are performed in as little as 30 minutes, depending on the area treated.

Plasma pen skin tightening alternative treatment

Due to the nature of the treatment, the plasma pen will leave minuscule brown spots on the treated section, like very tiny scabs, for a short while. Do not apply makeup to the area for a few days. If you have an essential event within the next few days and want to look your best, or you would prefer a treatment with near-zero healing time, one of the alternative treatments below may be better suited. Other procedures may not be as “near-instant” and may require a course of treatments.

HiFu (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound), also known as Non Surgical Face lift or Laser Facelift

If you’re not sure which treatment is for you, we can discuss all of the procedures available to ensure the right solution for you is carefully selected, during a free no-obligation consultation. You may still be able to have any selected treatment the same day if you let us know in advance.

What is expected after plasma pen / fibroblast skin tightening

Immediately after the treatment, you may experience a warm sensation which will cool over the remainder of the day. Over the next couple of days, you may experience slight swelling, particularly around the eye area as this is most delicate. You can apply a cold compress for short periods of time to reduce swelling. Anti-histamines or anti-inflammatory medication may also relieve the swelling.

Crusting will usually develop as the contracted skin is healing, which will drop over the following days. This is all part of the healing process. Everybody is different, so this can take anywhere between 5-14 days. Oxygenated foundation can also be applied to the area 48 hours post-treatment. Please ask us for details. It is crucial not to pick or rub at the crusting as this may lead to scarring.

It is essential to use the full supplied aftercare pack to ensure that you get the fantastic results that you desired when booking your treatment.

When can I expect to see results from plasma pen / fibroblasting treatment?

You will generally see immediate tightening along with continued improvements over the next three months in the appearance of saggy skin. In some cases, it may require more than one session, depending on the desired results.

Plasma Pen is considered more than a skin tightening treatment, as the skin’s volume is reduced. Results can last up to two years. Results from the non-invasive procedure will be noticeable immediately after your first treatment, but the final results reveal after eight weeks.

Depending on the treatment, additional treatment may be required but only after eight weeks to see full results. No more than two treatments are usually needed.
