Who is Microneedling suitable for?

Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime. It is safe for all skin types and colours as no damage will occur to the outer layers of skin. Inflammatory or change in skin pigmentation is extremely minimal.

This procedure is relatively comfortable, however numbing cream can be applied to the area being treated.

Microneedling is not suitable if you have used Accutane within the last 12 months, have open cuts or wounds or received radiation skin therapy. If you have skin infections or herpes simplex or are pregnant or breastfeeding, alternative treatments are recommended.

Microneedling is not suitable if you have problems with keloid scarring, hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing.

How does Microneedling work?

A Microneedling pen has a tip with many tiny sterile needles in, to create microchannels on the surface of the skin, which allows suitable skin rejuvenation products to penetrate further into the skin while also stimulating the production of collagen.

The Dermafix Microneedling pen can create over half a million microchannels during a 5-10 minute treatment. This treatment penetrates deep through the epidermis to the dermis where collagen is then recreated to reduce sagging of the skin and wrinkles.

This encourages the absorption of active ingredients making it far easier for them to pass through the upper layer to your cells, deeper in the skin.

What is expected after my microneedling in Ipswich treatment?

You can expect a mild or slight redness to the area being treated immediately after and depending on your skin, some possible pinprick bleeding in the area, but a post-treatment cream is applied to minimise this effect.

Any redness that occurs will calm down within a couple of hours.

Minimal make-up is recommended 24-48 hours post-treatment and a high SPF sun cream/block is recommended daily to maintain results and avoid damage to the new skin from the sun.

When can I expect to see results from microneedling?

Clients who have chosen Microneedling for minor imperfections such as fine lines and wrinkles may notice results immediately after undergoing just one treatment. However, more extensive imperfections like deep scars or acne scarring may require a course of treatment.

With each subsequent treatment, you should notice more and more improvement. As a bonus, this procedure boosts the production of elastin and collagen, so the appearance of your skin will steadily improve as it heals from the treatment.
