Laser lipo is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat from fibre-optic lasers at various wavelengths to melt body fat.
Laser Lipo uses a low-level laser to stimulate the fat cell and emulsify (liquefy) the fat and toxins within the cell. Then the liquefied fat moves from inside the cell through a temporary pore formed in the cell membrane to outside the cell where it is in the interstitial space until absorbed by the lymphatic system.
This results in millions of fat cells becoming smaller. A typical 40-minute waistline treatment can reduce an individual by ½ to ¾ of an inch while a full protocol of eight treatments usually results in multiple inch loss.
The fat cells are not injured in any way by this process. The fat cell does not go away and can be filled back up if a proper diet is not maintained.
The Lipo Laser utilises the latest low level/cold laser technology to reduce girth and fat over almost all areas of the body without surgery, downtime or redness. This treatment also spurs the production of the protein collagen, making skin tauter.
How is the treatment performed?
During each session of Laser Lipo, pads will be placed on the area to be treated, with laser diodes placed directly on the skin. The laser energy penetrates down to the fat cells and creates tiny holes in their membranes. This causes the fat cells to release their stored fatty acids, glycerol, and water into the body and then shrink, potentially resulting in lost inches. The body then flushes out the expelled fat-cell contents via the lymphatic system or burns them for energy.
A 10-minute ‘Whole Body Vibration’ session is recommended immediately post Lipo Laser treatments to burn FFAs (free fatty acids) within the body and help stimulate the lymphatic system.
Who is Laser Lipo suitable for?
This depends on your skin type (1= Fair Skin, 5= Dark Skin):
For skin types 1-3 treatment session can be from 20 minutes – 60 minutes maximum. The longer the treatment the better the result. However, if combining with cavitation, then the recommended time would be 40 minutes of laser lipo followed by 20 minutes cavitation.
For skin types 4-5, we recommend 20 minutes maximum of laser lipo as it can cause hyperpigmentation if left on the skin for too long. We recommend making up the remaining treatment time with cavitation of 20-40 minutes.
When can I expect to see results?
This depends on the individual. For example, you can lose anything between 3-10cm along your waistline (per session).
We do not advise more than 2 sessions per week as it can cause too much strain on the body to remove all the released fat at once. Any fat that cannot be metabolized by the body would then be restored, reducing the benefits of the treatment.
What can be expected after my session?
There may be slight redness to the area which will subside over the next few hours.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes it is completely safe and non-invasive. No pain can be felt except maybe some warmth. Laser Lipo technology has been studied for over 30 years for many biomedical purposes. This is an innovative technology for fat loss and is FDA approved for pain and inflammation.
